Wichita Resident Wins “Spectacular” Prize

TOPEKA, KAN. – Tuesday turned out to be a “spectacular” day for Nicholas Bogart when he purchased 10 $5 Spectacular 7s instant scratch tickets. The Wichita resident won a $25,000 top prize on the fifth ticket he scratched!

“I was playing $5 Twice Lucky Double Play tickets at first,” said Bogart. “I won $50 and then $100. I figured since I had won those two prizes, I better try a different game. Spectacular 7s is new, so I thought I’d try my luck.”

According to Bogart, he was so shocked about the $25,000 win, he turned white as a ghost.

“The store clerk kept asking me if I was all right,” said Bogart. “I was really pale.”

After having his winning ticket checked several times on a Lottery terminal, Bogart called his wife Jennifer to share the news.

“I’m always pulling pranks,” said Bogart. “Jennifer didn’t believe me when I called her. In fact, she hung up on me. It took a call from a store clerk and a friend of mine before she finally believed me. Even then, she wasn’t totally convinced until she saw the ticket.”

The Bogarts, who together have three children, plan to pay bills with their prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at KC Gas & Grocery 3, located at 1955 S. Washington in Wichita.
