Wichita Resident Has Winning Streak – Wins $10,000
TOPEKA, KAN. – Tuesday evening, Heather Clement and her boyfriend Zach Goforth, stopped at a local convenience store to play a variety of instant scratch games. The Wichita residents couldn’t believe their luck. They began the evening winning $14 and ended the evening winning a $10,000 cash prize, playing a $10 Hot Streak instant scratch ticket.
“We kept winning,” said Clement. “We won $14, bought ten more tickets, won $50. We bought 10 more tickets and won $20. We bought more tickets, and won $50. Finally we bought a $10 game and won $10,000. Zach was standing over my shoulder when I scratched the $10,000 winner. We couldn’t believe it.”
As Clement approached the store’s counter, the clerk commented on how much money they were winning.
“The store clerk said, ‘We keep handing you money,’” said Clement. “I smiled and said, ‘You just handed us $10,000!’”
Clement had a hard time believing her ticket was real. She stopped at three different convenience stores on the way home to have them verify her win.
“I play every day,” said Clement. “You always hope you’ll win, but when it happens it’s hard to believe.
Clement plans to pay bills with her prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at QuikTrip 376, located at 2106 S. Rock Rd. in Wichita.
