$5.26 Million Hot Lotto Jackpot Hit in Southeast Kansas!
TOPEKA, KAN. – Kansas Lottery officials are waiting for the holder of a jackpot-winning Hot Lotto ticket to come forward. The ticket matched all numbers in the Saturday, May 31, 2008 drawing, to win $5.26 million!
The winning numbers in the May 31 Hot Lotto drawing are: 27-31-35-36-38 Hot Ball 10.
The ticket was sold in the southeast region of Kansas, which includes these counties: Chase, Lyon (southern half), Coffey, Anderson, Linn, Greenwood, Woodson, Allen, Bourbon, Elk, Wilson, Neosho, Crawford, Chautauqua, Montgomery, Labette, and Cherokee.
The winner of the Hot Lotto jackpot will have a choice – take the grand prize as an annuity paid over 24 years (25 payments of approximately $210,400 each), or take a lump sum payment. The lump sum payment would be $3.2 million, minus 25 percent federal taxes and 5 percent state taxes, for a total of $2.24 million.
The winner will have 365 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.
Hot Lotto is played in 13 lottery jurisdictions: District of Columbia, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and West Virginia. The last time a Hot Lotto jackpot was hit in Kansas was July 4, 2007, when Lori Boyle of Independence, Kan. won $12.9 million.
