Liberal Double Winner Hits $6,000 with Triple Tripler
TOPEKA, KAN. – If there’s anything Rosina Timmons likes better than buying a few instant scratch tickets on pay day, it’s winning big money playing those tickets! The 59-year-old Liberal resident has done very well in that regard.
In September of 2006, Timmons came to Lottery headquarters to claim a $10,000 prize she won with a $2 Diamond Slingo ticket. This week, Timmons was back at Lottery headquarters to claim a $6,000 prize she won playing the $1 Triple Tripler game.
“I realized right away that I had won,” Timmons said. “But, just to make sure, I had my husband and a friend also check the ticket.”
Winning two big instant prizes within two years is quite an accomplishment, although Timmons told the Lottery she was more shocked at winning the first time than she was the second.
“I definitely am going to keep on playing, too,” she said. “Who knows? Next time I could win an even bigger prize.”
Timmons is employed at National Beef in Liberal. She said she plans to use her prize money to pay bills.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Love’s Country Stores 24, located at 208 W. Pancake Boulevard in Liberal.
