Kansas Lottery Game Brings Luck to Montana Resident

TOPEKA, KAN. – Usually a Powerball player, Myles Coroy of Bozeman, Montana rarely buys instant scratch tickets. While at a convenience store yesterday, however, the Kansas Lottery’s Super Red Hot Crossword instant scratch game caught his eye. Coroy was glad it did. The Montana resident revealed a $5,000 cash prize playing the $5 game.

“I was quite surprised when I won,” said Coroy. “I’m going to have to change my thinking and start buying more scratch tickets.”

The Montana resident, who is visiting Kansas on business, owns KBM Consulting and is working in an oil field near Seneca.

“When I called my wife Barbara to tell her I’d won $5,000, she didn’t believe me,” said Coroy. “She kept saying I was lying and I kept telling her I wouldn’t lie about something like this.”

Coroy plans to be in Kansas until mid-December at which time, he’ll return home for Christmas. He and his wife, who have two grown sons, are expecting their first grandson in February and another grandchild in May.

“My wife gets to decided how we’ll spend our winnings,” said Coroy. “I imagine it will be spent on our grandkids. We’re both every excited about becoming grandparents.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Tank’It Food & Fuel, located at 1011 North St. in Seneca.
