Holiday Millionaire Raffle Tickets Two-Thirds Gone!
TOPEKA, KAN. – Kansas Lottery players still have time to purchase Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets, but they’ll want to hurry to make sure they get their tickets before the game is sold out. In less than three weeks, the Lottery has sold more than 100,000 of the 150,000 tickets available.
Holiday Millionaire Raffle sales continue to be very strong, as more and more players buy the $20 tickets, hoping to get lucky and win $1 million. At 1 in 150,000, the Kansas Lottery’s first Raffle offers players their best chance ever of winning $1 million. Five $50,000 prizes and five hundred $500 prizes will also be awarded.
“I have no doubt the game will be a sell-out,” said Mike Mailea, Manager of Fast Lane, located at 512 SE Topeka Blvd. in Topeka. “I have a lot of people who got a ticket early, and said they’d buy another one once 100,000 tickets had been sold.”
QuikTrip 315, located at 1500 S. Maize Road in Wichita, sold an incredible $15,000 worth of Raffle tickets the first day of sales on October 18. According to Manager Tara Zandler, Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets continue to be in high demand.
“We have bunches of people still asking for them, and I’ve heard a lot of people say they’re going to use them for holiday gifts,” Zandler said. “People are willing to pay the $20 because the odds are so good. I really think the game will sell out way before Christmas.”
Sales of Raffle tickets will continue until December 30, 2009, or until 150,000 tickets are sold, whichever comes first. The Raffle drawing will be held December 31, 2009. Players must retain their original Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets to claim a prize.
“This is the most excitement a lottery game has generated in Kansas in some time,” said Lottery Executive Director Ed Van Petten. “We thank our players for their great support and remind players who would like to purchase a ticket not to wait too long.”
Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets are available at all Kansas Lottery retail locations. The minimum age to purchase a lottery ticket is 18. As with any lottery game, the Kansas Lottery reminds players to play responsibly, sign their tickets and keep them in a safe place until the drawing.
