Holiday Millionaire Raffle Tickets Go on Sale October 18;
Best Chance EVER to Win $1 Million

TOPEKA, KAN. – Kansas Lottery players are anxiously awaiting October 18. That’s when the Lottery’s first-ever raffle game goes on sale. Only 150,000 Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets will be sold, giving Kansas Lottery players their best chance ever to win $1 million!

“The Kansas Lottery is excited to be offering its players a raffle game for the first time,” said Executive Director Ed Van Petten. “Several other lotteries have conducted successful raffles and we anticipate a raffle will do well in Kansas, especially when players look at their chances of winning a million dollars.”

Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets will sell for $20 each. Each Quick Pick ticket will contain a unique 6-digit raffle number. Once the 150,000 tickets are gone, they’re gone. Sales will continue through December 30, 2009, if not already sold out. The Holiday Millionaire Raffle drawing will be held on New Year’s Eve – December 31, 2009. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

Prize: $1,000,000*
Number of Prizes: 1
Chances of Winning: 1:150,000

Prize: $50,000
Number of Prizees: 5
Chances of Winning: 1:30,000

Prize: $500
Number of Prizes: 500
Chances of Winning: 1:300

*Prizes based on sell-out. If not all tickets are sold, prizes will be pari-mutuel.

Players must retain their original Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets to claim a prize. All $500 prizes can be cashed at a retailer location. The $1,000,000 and $50,000 prize winners must claim at Kansas Lottery headquarters in Topeka or at the Kansas Lottery office in Great Bend.

On December 31, 2009, the Grand Prize winning raffle number for the drawing will be announced first on these stations: KSNT 27 News/KTMJ 43 (Topeka), NBC Action News KSHB-TV 41 (Kansas City), and 3 KSN (Wichita). A list of all winning raffle numbers will be available on www.kslottery.com after 12:00 noon on December 31, 2009.
