Horoscope Comes True for Milford Resident – Wins $10,000

TOPEKA, KAN. – “Your purse will be heavy,” read Tammy Lilly-Himelick’s horoscope earlier this week. The Milford resident was shocked when her horoscope came true. Lilly-Himelick matched four numbers plus the Powerball, winning a $10,000 cash prize in the Oct. 14 drawing!

“My purse wasn’t supposed to be heavy until November 4, or at least that’s what the horoscope said,” laughed Lilly-Himelick. “What a roller coaster ride!”

This is the first big win for the Milford resident. She and her husband Tim, who buy tickets every Wednesday and Saturday, couldn’t believe their good fortune.

“When I checked my ticket, the scanner told me to sign the back of my ticket,” said Lilly-Himelick. “I’d never seen that before, so I took my ticket up to the counter and had the store clerk check it for me. I knew I must have won something big, but I wasn’t sure. I was shaking all the way to the counter.”

After the store clerk checked her winning ticket, Lilly-Himelick asked for a printout of the winning numbers.

“Tim and I wanted to make sure we’d won,” said Lilly-Himelick. “Once we were sure, we called family and friends. My two sons didn’t believe me though.”

Lilly-Himelick and her husband, who are newlyweds, plan to do some car repairs with their prize money and purchase a GPS system. The rest will be saved.

The winning ticket was purchased at BJ’s 66, located at 5410 N. Hwy 77 in Junction City.
