Toto Brings Luck to Logan Resident

TOPEKA, KAN. – Even though Dorothy caught her eye, Toto brought her luck. Shannon Plummer was in Kansas when she revealed a $10,000 top prize playing a $2 Wizard of Oz instant scratch ticket. The Logan resident won the top prize by matching her winning symbol, which was Toto, to a Toto winning symbol in the play area.

“Before going to dinner Monday evening, I stopped at a convenience store and decided to buy a couple of lottery tickets,” said Plummer. “I bought two $1 tickets and one $2 Wizard of Oz ticket. I like the movie, so when I saw Dorothy the game caught my eye.”

After making her lottery purchase, Plummer had dinner at a local pizzeria where she scratched her winning ticket.

“While I was waiting for our pizza, I scratched my tickets,” explained Plummer. “The Wizard of Oz game was the first ticket I scratched. When I matched my Toto symbol to the other Toto symbol, I couldn’t believe the prize was $10,000. I didn’t think I was reading the ticket right.”

Plummer quickly ate dinner and went back to the store where she had purchased her winning ticket.

“Even though the store said I’d won $10,000, I didn’t believe it until Lottery officials said I’d won,” Plummer said. “It didn’t seem real until now.”

Plummer, who is single and has two children, plans to buy a car with her prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Love’s Country Store 60, located at 303 W. Holme St. in Norton.
