Morning Routine Pays Off – Belle Plaine Resident Wins $20,000

TOPEKA, KAN. – Every weekday morning, Cynthia Radcliff has a routine. She stops at a local convenience store where she purchases a cup of coffee and a lottery ticket. Her routine finally paid off this morning with a big win. The Belle Plaine resident revealed all ten words on a $2 Bonus Crossword instant scratch ticket, winning a $20,000 top prize.

“My boyfriend Arthur Weeks was driving as I was scratching my ticket,” explained Radcliff. “When I revealed all ten words on my ticket, we immediately turned around and went back to the store.”

Once the store confirmed Radcliff’s win, they decided to make a trip to Topeka to claim her prize.

“What a whirlwind of a morning,” said Radcliff. “As we were driving to Topeka, I called all my friends and family. No one seemed to mind that I woke them up at 6 a.m. with such good news. I’ve been laid off work since May, so this win came at a great time. I was buying $5 tickets and decided to switch to $2 games. I’m sure glad I did!”

Radcliff, who has two children, plans to pay bills with her prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kabredlo’s Cenex 277, located at 400 N. Logan in Belle Plaine.
