Recent Winners!

It didn’t take very long for Clarissa Trevizo of Wichita to win her first big Lottery prize, as she has now won $25,000 on the $5 Sparkling Cash Winnings holiday ticket less than a month after turning 18! 

“I was with my dad, and we stopped at a gas station and he bought a couple tickets,” Trevizo said. “I decided I wanted to play with him, too, so I bought one of the same tickets that he did.” 

When they got back to their vehicle, they went ahead and scratched off the tickets. Clarrisa’s father won $15! Then it was time for her to scratch her own ticket, and that’s when she noticed a winning symbol. 

“I just kind of stared at the ticket for a second before I realized what it said,” Trevizo added with a laugh. “Finally, I said “Dad, I think I won $25,000!” and we both just started crying in the car.” 

They went back into the store to scan the ticket to see if it was a winner for real. When the clerk scanned their ticket, it printed the claim form and said to claim their prize in Topeka, and that’s when they knew it was for real. 

“The funniest part was the clerk at the store. He went crazy with us! He couldn’t believe it,” Trevizo said. “He was just excited as we were. We had a real moment there!” 

For Trevizo and her father, this win is a huge blessing after some tough times, as her father has been going through medical issues, Trevizo said. “He had an accident recently, and the medical bills have been stacking up. This will go directly to helping us with those issues for sure.” 

When it was pointed out that not many 18 year olds would be quite so selfless with their first Lottery win, Trevizo said there was never even a moment where she considered using the money any other way. 

“My dad is a single parent, and he has sacrificed so much for me. This wasn’t even a question; I knew exactly what we would do with the winnings. What a blessing for us, truly,” she added.

The winning ticket was sold a QuikTrip 321 at 6011 West Central Street in Wichita. There are still four top prizes left in the $5 Sparkling Cash Winnings game, as well as thousands of other prizes as well. Additionally, all Sparkling Cash Winning tickets are eligible for entry into the “Sparkling Cash Bonus” drawing, where they can win up to $20,000 cash.
