Derby Man Scratches off Polaris ATV Prize Worth $36,000

A Derby man has scratched off a one-of-a-kind lottery prize. In the Kansas Lottery's $5 Dollars 'N' Dirt game, one Polaris recreation and utility ATV will be given away in a second-chance drawing. Another Polaris was embedded in the game as an instant prize. Christopher Goodman was lucky enough to buy that ticket!

"To start with I bought four Dollars 'N' Dirt tickets and won $15," Goodman explained. "I used the $15 to buy three more tickets and won a Free Ticket. I cashed in the Free Ticket and the ticket I got next won the Polaris prize."

The Polaris prize includes mandatory state and federal income withholding taxes and is valued at approximately $36,000. Goodman has given it some thought and said he's probably going to sell the Polaris.

"It's a great opportunity to use the money to buy a car for my wife," said the self-employed carpenter. Christopher and Sonya Goodman have been married 14 years. Together they have seven children and eight grandchildren.

Goodman's lucky ticket was purchased at Casey's General Store 2953 located at 400 N. Rock Rd. in Derby. Goodman says that's where he usually buys his lottery tickets.

Players still have a chance to win a Polaris General 4 1000 EPS recreation and utility ATV in an online-only second-chance drawing!  Kansas Lottery PlayOn®Players Loyalty members can submit non-winning $5 Dollars 'N' Dirt instant scratch tickets to earn entries.  The drawing winner will be announced August 3.
