Edwardsville Woman Burns Rubber to Topeka to Claim Trucks & Bucks Top Prize

Duste Miles of Edwardsville has wanted a Ford Raptor since they first came out in 2010. In fact, the only reason she purchased a $10 Trucks & Bucks ticket was that she noticed the Ford Raptor on the ticket while waiting in line. Her last-second decision led to her winning her dream vehicle when she scratched off a truck instant prize!

"I doubt it really sinks in that I won until I'm sitting behind the seat, driving it off the lot," said Miles. "It's really so amazing, I've wanted a Ford Raptor for so long, and to win it like this is something else."

Miles comes from a Ford family tradition. It runs so deep that her middle name, "Ma'chel", comes from her uncle's 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. "My dad even gave me a Ford Raptor toy car as a gift last year. I still play with it all the time," added Miles.

The win couldn't have come at a better time for Miles and her recently expanded family. She has 6-month-old identical twins, and this new truck will make it much easier to get her family around town.

"It will be a family truck during the week, and we might take it off-road on the weekends. The best of both worlds," said Miles.

The winning ticket was purchased at MS Petroleum at 10421 Kaw Drive in Edwardsville. There is still one top prize left in the $10 Trucks & Bucks instant game, and a final truck giveaway with the Trucks & Bucks second chance drawing through Kansas Lottery's PlayOn player's loyalty program.
