Auburn Man Wins $75,000; Looks to Invest and Give Back

Harold Slack has a lot of irons in the fire right now. He's days away from closing on a home, and he's currently looking for ways to start a new business in the Topeka area. The biggest issue he's run into is finding startup funds for his shop. That won't be an issue anymore, now that he has won $75,000 on a $10 Tiger Pride ticket!

"I knew it was the top prize from the very moment I scratched it," said Slack. "The first symbol I scratched off was the top prize. I took it back to the clerk at the gas station, and when she scanned it, she was more excited than I was! I was just kind of in a state of disbelief."

Slack said he hasn't played many of the Tiger Pride tickets. "I was playing the $5 Dollars 'N' Dirt tickets a lot, but I saw where someone had won the Polaris on that prize, so I decided to change it up," said Slack.

His decision proved to be fortuitous, as he's now $75,000 richer, and ready to invest in a new business. "I've basically closed on my house, so I can use this prize to finally get the ball rolling on starting my own business. It couldn't have happened at a better time!"

His business isn't the only destination for the prize money, though. Slack also plans to give some back to an organization that played a huge role in his youth.

"I'm definitely going to give back to the Boys & Girls Club organization. My local club played a large role in my childhood, and helped keep me out of trouble. It's only right that I pass along some of my good fortune to them as well."

The winning ticket was purchased at the Holiday Square Amoco on 2901 SW Topeka Boulevard. There is still one top prize left in the $10 Tiger Pride instant scratch game, as well as thousands of other cash prizes.
