$1.1 Billion Powerball Jackpot Up for Grabs Tonight
Temperatures took a plunge this weekend, but Kansas Lottery players are feeling the heat as jackpot fever has hit the nation. The estimated jackpot for the Monday, December 15 Powerball drawing is at $1.1 BILLION, with a cash option of $503.4 million.
Tonight’s jackpot ranks as the sixth largest in Powerball history and the game’s second-biggest prize this year, behind only the $1.787 billion jackpot won on September 6, 2025 in Missouri and Texas. Tonight will mark the 43 consecutive drawing in the jackpot run, which is a new game record for most consecutive drawings in a jackpot cycle.
If a player wins tonight’s jackpot, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize estimated at $1.1 billion or a lump sum payment estimated at $503.4 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5 percent each year.
Powerball tickets start at just $2, with the option to add the Power Play Multiplier and/or add Double Play to your ticket for an additional $1 each. Powerplay can multiply a non-jackpot win by up to 10X. Cutoff for entry is 8:59 p.m. on draw days.
Kansas Powerball tickets now have an option for an additional draw. The Double Play is a new Powerball feature that only 27 states currently offer that gives players another chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million.
Players are invited to submit all their winning and non-winning tickets in the Kansas Lottery PlayOn® Players Loyalty program to earn points for drawing entries and a chance to win cash and other prizes! PlayOn® is a registered trademark of Pollard Banknote Limited used under license.
