It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not an April Fool’s joke! The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing has officially been RAISED to $1 BILLION! The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $483.8 million.
The Powerball jackpot was last won on Jan. 1, 2024, by a ticket in Michigan that won a prize worth $842.4 million. Since then, there have been 38 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Tonight’s drawing will be the 39th drawing in the jackpot run.
This run has seen several big winners in the Sunflower State. There was a $50,000 winning ticket sold in both the March 23 and March 30 drawings in the Northeast region, as well as thousands of dollars in other prizes across the state.
Players have until 8:59 pm on draw days to get their ticket. Powerball plays on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Tickets start at just $2, and players can add the Power Play multiplier for an additional $1. For more information on Powerball, see the Kansas Lottery website here.
