There is a new millionaire in Kansas after one Kansas Lottery ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday’s Super Kansas Cash drawing, winning a jackpot prize worth $1,088,070!
The winning numbers in the August 28 Super Kansas Cash drawing were 2-3-15-23-26 with a Super Cash Ball of 12.
The winning jackpot ticket was sold in northeast Kansas, which includes the following counties: Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Doniphan, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Atchison, Geary, Wabaunsee, Shawnee, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Osage, Douglas, Franklin, Miami, Morris and the northern half of Lyon.
This is the first jackpot win since April 17, 2019, when the largest jackpot in the game’s history was hit. The jackpot on April 17 was worth $6.7 million and was claimed anonymously by a Johnson County resident.
“It’s always exciting when our Kansas Lottery players hit the jackpot in a Kansas-only game,” said Stephen Durrell, Executive Director of the Kansas Lottery. “We want to remind the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they are ready to claim it.”
The winner of the Super Kansas Cash jackpot has 365 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.
It’s the Kansas Lottery’s policy not to release the name or location of the retailer where the winning ticket was sold until the winning ticket is claimed.
Super Kansas Cash is a Kansas-only game and jackpots are paid in one lump sum. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The Super Kansas Cash jackpot returns to $100,000 for Saturday’s drawing.
