Recent Winners!

Floyd Bost of Lawrence is no stranger to the Kansas Lottery. Back in 1995, he was an $87,955 winner playing Kansas Cash. Now he made another trip to the Lottery offices to claim a $50,000 Powerball prize! Bost matched four numbers and the Powerball to win. The winning numbers in the May 24, 2023 drawing were 12 – 21 – 44 – 50 – 58 Powerball 26. 

“I honestly can’t believe it, but here we are again,” Said Bost. “I think I checked my ticket three or four times when I first figured it out!” 

Bost, a plumber by trade, took a couple days’ vacation to do some work around the house. While taking a break from building a fence, Bost remembered that he had Lottery tickets he needed to check. 

“I scanned it and the screen said ‘congratulations’ but I had no idea how much it was at first,” Bost added. “When I figured it out, I went and told my wife we had to go to Topeka! She didn’t believe me at first but it was real.” 

Some winners have no idea what they’re going to do with their money when claiming a prize. Bost, however, had already been making plans. “I have been saving for quite a while for parts and repairs on my 1938 Chevrolet Pickup, and now I can finally get started on it,” Bost said happily. “The rest will go into the bank for now!” 

The winning ticket was sold at Casey’s General Store 3939 at 6300 Bob Billings Parkway in Lawrence. Powerball draws on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Tonight’s drawing is for an estimated $269 million! Click here for more information.
