It is hard to find time to keep up with things when you are a teacher, especially in special education, towards the end of the school year. That is why it took over a week for Nancy Muck of Gaylord to realize that she had matched both Red and both White numbers on her 2by2 ticket, meaning she had won the $22,000 top prize!
Muck matched Red 08 and 12 and White 12 and 20 on her 2by2 ticket in April 21, 2023 to win the prize. It came as quite of a shock to her, as she almost forgot to check her ticket which was buried in her purse!
“Truthfully, I was cleaning out my purse when I found the ticket and realized I hadn’t checked it,” Muck said with a laugh. “I opened up the PlayOn app, and it said I was a winner but didn’t say how much. So I went to the website and that’s when I figured it out.”
“I yelled out to my husband to come and see to make sure I was reading it right. He couldn’t believe it,” Muck added. “We sent a picture and screenshot of the website to my daughters and asked if they also thought I had won!”
Muck says she locked the ticket away in a safe place, and then left for her conference for two days! After returning, it was the last full week of school, so Muck decided to wait until it was over to come claim her prize.
“While we were waiting to make the trip to Topeka, we started thinking about what to do with the money,” Muck said. “We figured out that we could basically pay off our car four years early, so that’s what we’re going to do. Gives us some real breathing room going forward!”
The winning ticket was sold at Corner Cupboard at 200 S 1st in Osborne. 2by2 is a daily draw game that offers a top prize of $22,000 and has eight different ways to win! Learn more on the Kansas Lottery website here.
